53′ Conestoga
trucking

A Conestoga is a flatbed with a rolling tarp system. The cover slides back so the trailer loads like a flatbed, from the side or by crane, then closes so freight rides covered like it would in a van. No tarping time at the dock, and no tarp damage to finished goods.

What it's best for

  • Finished metals and aluminum that must stay dry
  • Machinery and crated equipment
  • Freight that needs crane or side loading but cannot be exposed
  • Aerospace and high-value parts
  • Shippers who want fast loading without waiting on tarps

On every truck

  • Rolling tarp system with bows and end curtains
  • Winch straps and chain with binders
  • Edge protection
  • Load bars and dunnage

When to choose something else

Freight taller than about 8 feet 6 inches, or very heavy loads that need every pound of flatbed payload. The tarp system adds weight.

Conestoga questions

What is a Conestoga trailer?

A Conestoga is a flatbed trailer with a sliding tarp on an aluminum frame. The tarp rolls back like an accordion for loading, then closes to cover the freight.

Conestoga or flatbed: which do I need?

Choose a Conestoga when freight loads from the side or top but must stay clean and dry. Choose a flatbed for the tallest and heaviest loads, or when tarping is not needed.

Is freight on a Conestoga still strapped down?

Yes. The cover protects from weather but is not securement. Drivers still secure every load with straps or chains to the federal cargo securement rules.

How do I get a rate?

Send the pickup and delivery locations, date, weight and commodity through the quote form or call dispatch at +1 (312) 350-2554. We usually answer within the hour on business days.

Do you broker loads to other carriers?

No. Be Limitless is an asset-based carrier. The truck and driver you book are ours, and we do not re-broker freight.
